Bread Pudding with Vanilla Sauce

This Old Fashioned Bread Pudding with Vanilla Sauce is so good! Comfort food at its best – breakfast, dessert, or snack! Guys that look good You need to try to make me some ASAP!!


For the bread pudding:

  • 10 Slices white bread cut into cubes
  • 2 C. Whole milk
  • ½ C. Granulated Sugar
  • 4 Tbsp. Butter unsalted
  • 2 tsp. Vanilla extract
  • 2 Large eggs beaten
  • ½ C. Raisins
  • ½ tsp. Cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp. Nutmeg

For the sauce:

  • ½ C. Heavy whipping cream
  • 8 Tbsp. Butter unsalted
  • ⅓ C. Granulated sugar
  • ½ C. Brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. Vanilla extract


  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Add the cubed bread and raisins to a well greased 9×13 baking dish, and toss to combine.
  3. In a saucepan on the stove over medium heat, combine the 4 tbsp butter, 2 cups whole milk and ½ cup granulated sugar.
  4. Cook until the butter is melted and the sugar is dissolved.
  5. Remove the mixture from the heat and whisk in the vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg.
  6. Place a spoonful of the mixture into the beaten eggs and whisk thoroughly. Continue to do this until the eggs are tempered. Then, add the egg mixture to the saucepan and whisk to combine.
  7. Pour the mixture over the bread and raisins in the baking dish and allow to sit for 10 minutes.
  8. Bake for 40 minutes.
  9. To make the sauce, combine the ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat. Simmer until the sauce has thickened.
  10. Pour the sauce over the bread pudding and serve.
