Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
Pour the cherry pie filling into the dish and spread it out evenly.
Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the cherries. Do not stir.
Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the top of the cake mix.
Bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until the top is golden and bubbly.
Let it cool for about 10 minutes before serving. Serve warm, preferably with vanilla ice cream.
